WHOOPSI DAISY - Let's Get All Cute & more

This week I decided to combine a few challenges.  I purchased a few new digis at Whoopsi Daisy because they are having a fantastic BOGO sale!  You can check out their images here.  I also wanted to use the colors in the CR84FN Challenge.  Mona and her team do a wonderful job providing great inspiration and beautiful colors to work with each week.  Here is the color combo this week:
This was kinda hard for me to put together and it didn't really come out how I had planned but I guess they can't all be perfect, right??
I started with an image from Whoopsi Daisy Page 31 and colored with my COPICs.  I tried different frames around the image but ultimately decided to go with no frame.  I wanted to cut the image in an oval shape but didn't have a big enough Spellbinders oval for this image.  I used Spellbinders Labels Seventeen and inked the edges with dark pink liquid chalk.  The sentiment is from JustRite Tiny Words and stamped in green liquid chalk.
It's hard to tell, but I accented the wings with my Sakura Stardust pen and they have a great shimmer.  Polka dots were also added to the bow and collar with a Sakura White Glaze pen.  I used a Martha Stewart Scalloped Dot edger punch on the light pink layer and an EK Success Dotted Scallop edger punch on the dark pink polka dot paper.  Green satin ribbon and a tiny Prima flower finished it off.  I think this also fits the challenge at Flutter By Wednesday's for having a fairy and Create Your Passion for girly girl.

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #46 - ALL ABOUT BOYS

This ALL ABOUT BOYS challenge couldn't have come at a better time!  My baby is turning 17 and I made him this special card.  Like most teenagers nowadays, they're heads are always down and fingers texting and this image from Mo Manning was PERFECT!  The paper is DCWV Green Tea Stack and I colored the image with my COPICs.
The stamped sentiment is from JustRite Just A Note Sentiments but the border is from JustRite Plant a Little Love on coordinating blue paper.
The ribbon wasn't exactly the right color so I also colored with my COPICs.  Then I daubed around the edges of the image with light blue ink (it's hard to see in the pic) and my JustRite Jumbo Dauber.

The inside was stamped with stamps from TPC Text Tales and the center stamp is unknown??  Also entered at:

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #45 and A STORY

A few weeks back I made this layout for the Spellbinders Design Team call.  I had made it through the 2nd round and we had to do a layout.  I have NEVER done a layout but I gave it my best effort.  Needless to say, I did not make the finals but I just love the way it turned out anyway!  It features my BFFs grand-daughter around her 1st birthday.  Having only had boys, this was a real treat to do!  When this week's challenge was ALL ABOUT GIRLS, it just seemed like the time to post this one (and maybe only) layout I've done.
The majority of accents are Spellbinders (Butterflies Two, Eyelets Pendant, Daisy Head, Labels Seventeen, Beaded Circles, Classic Inverted Circles, Labels Fourteen, Fancy Tags, Lotus Border, Big Scalloped Border) along with a JustRite Cherish the Memories sentiment, Waltzing Mouse Holiday Labels No. 14 coordinating stamp and Tim Holtz ticket.
I will keep trying to get on a great Design Team!  That's all I can do??

Flaunt It Fridays #11 - PDDU & Peachy Keen #45 - Sketch

Two new challenges for this week!  I have been trying to get something done for both of these the past few weeks and this was the perfect combo!  Flaunt It Fridays was having a Raggedy Ann or Andy challenge from Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge and of course I had to use Peachy Keen stamps!?!  Here is the sketch from Peachy Keen:
I really stretched my interpretation of this one and turned it on its side.
I used a bunch of scraps and modified the PK stamps a bit from 2 different sets (Monster Mash for the mouth and Everyday Character for the eyes).  I also used some Poppy Red Flower Soft on the hair and my white Sakura pen for accents.
The sentiment is computer generated.  TFL!

JustRite Friday Challenge #48 - SKETCH & Party Time Tues #2

This time there is a sketch over at JustRite Friday Challenge Blog.  Here is the sketch:
I decided to combine the challenge at the newly renovated Party Time Tuesday blog.  They asked us to use a chandelier and romantic theme.  Here's my take on the sketch:
I used JustRite Victorian Nested Frames for the chandelier and one of the sentiments from that set.  The chandelier stamp is from Inkadinkado Chandeliers.  I heat embossed everything with Martha Stewart embossing powders in either gold or black.  I topped it off with some sheer black ribbon and a pearl.

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #44 - VALENTINE'S / LOVE

Most have finished their Valentines already but I still have a couple to quickly throw together before monday.  Most that know me, know that I'm not really a purple person but for some reason this paper spoke to me -- lol??  I knew that I wanted to use this stamp from JustRite Romantic Sentiments 1-5/8" Centers and, when I saw this paper from K & Company, it just clicked!
I used my Spellbinders Classic Circles and Labels Sixteen dies to back the sentiment and added a white border from my favorite Valentine punch by Martha Stewart.  The ticket is Tim Holtz and the clothes pin and little key charm I got from Ms.  Here's a close-up:
I aso made a matching cupcake wrapper from Cricut Lite Cupcake Wrappers.
Doesn't that cupcake look yummy?!!  TFL!!

ANOTHER DAY OF SNOW!!!

Well, just a quite note so I can share what I woke up to again this morning!
It's so pretty, but enough already!  Schools have been out since last monday and no mail or trash service either!  I'm tired of cooking every meal and then having to do the dishes too -- lol!  I would LOVE to just order a pizza and have them deliver!  I mean, look at these icicles.........brrrrr!!!
Well, maybe I'll steal a heater from DH and plug it in MY room so I can craft today??  OR, I can make more cupcakes or cookies.....hmmmm.....decisions......decisions......????

THE SHABBY TEA ROOM - DT CALL ENTRY

The Shabby Tea Room is having a Design Team call for 2 lucky people and I thought I would toss my hat in the ring.  I absolutely LOVE this color combo and knew that I just HAD to do something fabulous for it (with a little prodding from friends)!  Here is the photo inspiration for the contest:
Isn't it dreamy?!?  Photo inspiration pieces can be a little tricky sometimes because you can draw inspiration from several different aspects of a photo from color to shape or theme.  I hope you can see the subtle details I pulled from the photo....
I started with a piece of paper from DCWV "the All Dressed Up matstack" and cut to size.  Then, I cut 3 layers of oval-shaped scallops on my Cricut with a design I created in SCAL to mimic the texture of the pieces in the picture.  It was then layered with some lace and a yummy black polka dot satin ribbon and bow.  The flower was pre-made in my stash and I don't remember the brand but it came in a set at Ms.  The pearl in the center of the flower was originally hot pink but I colored with my COPICs to make it black like the knob on the tea pot.  Here is a closeup:
The stamp set is from JustRite Just A Little Caffeine Borders and Centers that I colored with my COPICs to match the tea cup.  The stamps were cut using Spellbinders Classic Circles.  I also backed them with a white Spellbinders Petite Scallop Circle and a black Spellbinders Lacey Circle to mimic the handles on the tea set.  The spoon was a baby spoon that I thought was a fun and unexpected touch to the card.  I hope you like my take on the inspiration photo.   TFL!

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #43 - ANNIVERSARY

Although MY SHERI CRAFTS BLOG hasn't quite had it's first birthday, we are celebrating Anniversaries this week.  We hope you are having fun with the challenges Peachy has come up with over these past few months!  I wanted to do an elegant card this week for my parents.  They are celebrating their Anniversary in a few weeks.  Here's what I came up with:
The paper is handmade with silver flowers that I had in a pad I bought last year.  The center image coordinates with Spellbinders Labels Two, which I first cut and embossed in silver and then hand cut the main image a little smaller.  The image is from Waltzing Mouse Very Vintage Labels No. 2 and was heat embossed with Martha Stewart Sterling Silver Embossing Powder.  For the sentiment, I used JustRite Wedding Sentiments in Momento Tuxedo Black ink.  It's hard to tell how shimmery this card really is but I took a closeup so you can see some of the details.
I'm not sure where those little flowers came from but I had them in my stash and the rhinestones where pieces left over from another project that I cut up and rearranged.  I've had the makings of this hat pin for quite a while too (thanks to my cuz who donated a bag full of silver odds and ends).  I thought it fit this card perfectly!  And, who couldn't LOVE that white satin ribbon?!? TFL!!

JustRite Friday Challenge #47 - LOVE IS IN THE AIR

For the challenge over at JustRite Stampers Blog, we were supposed to do a project having to do with love, anniversary or wedding.  I started with making my own designer paper with JustRite Brayton Font and Myriad Pro font.  I layed out the words on my JustRite clear horizontal stamp block and inked with Momento Rhubard Stalk ink.
After covering the page, I cut to size for my card.  The clear block made it SO easy to line up.  Then I added Ranger Distress Antique Linen ink here and there.  I got a new sewing machine during the holidays and I'm still working out the bugs but I think the sewing part looks pretty good (don't look too close though)?!?
The sentiment is from JustRite Romantic Sentiments and the border from JustRite Seeds Of Kindness.  Both are 1-5/8" sizes.  I colored the border and little heart with Copic R89.  The white lacy border was in a package the is pre-cut from Martha Stewart and the red one is Spellbinders Eyelet Circles.  TFL!!
