This was a very fun challenge at MY SHERI CRAFTS this week!! I just LOVE the picture that Sandy of the DT took on a recent visit to Hobby Lobby! What a great inspiration piece!?!
I think it's pretty obvious that I did a very "literal" translation of the photo - LOL!! This digital image is from
WHIMSIE DOODLES "Sentiment-edibles" collection. When I saw the inspiration photo, I immediately thought of it!I printed the image and colored with my COPICs and drew some stitching around the edge using my Spellbinders Classic Circle, after cutting it out, as a template for those perfect lines. I then layered with Pinking Circles and Eyelet Circles. The background is embossed with Spellbinders Regal M-Bossabilities and sanded to show the detail of the embossing better.
A bold ribbon was tied across the bottom and a scrap piece of lace added to soften the look. I just LOVE this silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store....one of my FAVORITE things!! I hope you can find time to join us for this challenge and share YOUR version of this inspiration photo!

Gorgeous card! Love the watermelon! Pretty colors and details!

Sheri, I just LOVE this card! Love the embossing you did in the BG! It set this card off, and everything else just went along perfect! Gorgeous bow too! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this! Every detail is gorgeous! Ok, can you teach me how to make bows like yours? Your bows are always so perfect!
ReplyDeleteJust LOVE this vibrant, FUN card and especially how perfectly that BG embossing folder matches the pink/green trey on the inspiration photo!!! Came really close to using that ONE folder I have too, until I found the pink paper to use instead!!! ;~)
ReplyDeleteFantastic card Sheri, so summertime sweet! I love all the details with the embossing, stitching and your coloring is fabulous as always! : )
ReplyDeleteSheri,
ReplyDeletefirst I have to tell you how much I like the sanded background. I have never done that but have always liked the look. So I plan on sanding some embossing very soon. Your image is so cute and colored perfectly. What a great idea to have such a pretty bow and ribbon. It just drew me into the card. I love it!

Sheri, I thought for a second the faux stitching was stamped. They look perfect! The splash of yellow the ribbon added makes everything pop. This is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect card! I love that background embossing, the pink and green is a great color combo and that big yellow ribbon is fantastic! You're right, this was a really fun challenge!
