Tha Shabby Tea Room #99 - Love Is In The Air

This week over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM our sponsor is JustRite Stampers!  I know everyone is sick of me saying it but, these are my FAVORITE stamps!!  Be sure to check out the prizes for this week's challenge...you won't want to miss out on a chance at these new releases!  This week we want you to create a card or project using the colors of the inspiration photo and the theme of 'air mail'.
I started with a 2 stamps from JustRite Always & Forever Medallion cling set and heat embossed the red medallion with clear irridescent and then cut with the coordinating Nested Medallion die .  Then, I stamped to focal image in black and cut with Nested Oval Medallions and colored with my COPICs.  Next, I used the new background image called Harlequin Script background.
I added the white doily and my bow is embellished with a heart cut from JustRite Customer Charm Die.  The sentiment was from JustRite Your Special Day Medallion cling set and stamped in black AND red ink.  Check out this AMAZING prize package...you DEFINITELY won't want to miss out on this one!

This card also worked out great for the JustRite Challenge #065 - "For The Love Of...."

If you own JustRite Stamps you should pop over and add YOUR creation to the challenge!  I know the JustRite Team would love to see them!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #77 - New Things

This week it's all about "New Things" over at MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE!  The challenge is to include in your creation a NEW technique, NEW things got for Christmas, NEW NEW NEW!  I chose to use my new Cricut Imagine and Cricut Craft Room to create a card today.
I started with the Imagine More cartridge and selected the main image.  I didn't modify the image but I DID print an extra butterfly for dimension.
I will tell you that I have had MANY issues using CCR with the Imagine and it took SEVERAL tries before I got ONE good image to cut right.  The mat keeps spitting out before it cuts!  I know there are several people having this issue with Win7 and I am waiting for a fix to be announced soon.  Therefore, I ended up NOT using CCR for the border and cut directly on the Imagine.  I was a little disappointed that the holes in the scallop weren't as pictured and quite small so I took a hole punch and punched those by hand.  I also had to cut the additional butterfly out by hand from one of the images that never cut on previous attempts.  I will continue to determine work-arounds until these problems can be fixed.

JustRite Birthday Card for DAD

Boy!  I've had a busy week this week making THREE cards.  I normally don't have a need for that but I guess that's the way it goes??  I chose the JUSTRITE CHALLENGE #64 colors again because I LOVE them SO MUCH!  This time, I needed a masculine card for my dad and (although not EXTREMELY masculine) I think this worked out nicely!
I used JustRite Fleur De Lis Labels Twenty Cling frame stamped with brown ink and cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty.  The center sentiment is from JustRite Birthday Centers Round 1-5/8".
I added twine and a bronze metal star cut with Spellbinders Nested Stars and a Tim Holtz ticket.
The inside was stamped with a retired Nested Sentiment in brown ink.

JustRite Challenge #64 - Deepest Sympathy

A friend asked me to make her a sympathy card for her Aunt who just lost her husband.  I knew just the colors and stamps I would choose.  I used JustRite Sympathy Nested Sentiments and the colors from this week's JustRite Color Challenge.  I have not received my newest release clear sympathy set so this will do just fine.
I found this GORGEOUS pleated teal ribbon and used some scraps in the background.  She wanted it simple so it could be mailed so no big bows or buttons on this one.
The frame is from JustRite Elegant Frame Cling set, stamped in teal and cut with the coordinating Spellbinders Labels Ten.  I just LOVE this brown and teal together and the sentiments were PERFECT for the occasion.

A Shabby Birthday

We are SO EXCITED to wish TWO of our Shabby Teammates a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Michelle's birthday is today and Fran's birthday is Friday.  Debbie and I created a card in honor of this special occasion.  I decided this would also be a perfect opportunity to mix a little JustRite Color Challenge since I was going to use their stamps anyway.  Here is their dual birthday card:
I used Fleur De Lis Labels Twenty Cling set stamped with a teal ink and cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty.  I then cut a larger one out of brown polka dot paper.  I just LOVE these colors!!!

The Shabby Tea Room #97 - Gorgeous Gateaux

This week, over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM, we are asking you to create a card/project using grey, lilac, pink, peach plus lace and a metal embellishment.  Here's my card:
I chose "Make It Snappy - Congratulations" from our sponsor this week:

I decided to get a wedding card done for my stash.  I always need one on hand and this image made it SO EASY!  It's hard to tell in the photo but I used glitter on the dress after I colored with my COPICs.  I just LOVE the way it makes it look just like a beaded gown!  Here is a different angle:

I used pink, peach and lilac colors in the flowers and topped it off with some diamond Stickles!  The soft pink background was embossed with my Cuttlebug.  SO PRETTY!

The Shabby Tea Room #96 - Vintage Boudoir

This is a fun and different challenge this week at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM!  The challenge is to create a card/project using the colors of the inspiration photo and at least one item related to sewing.
I chose "Dancing Dress" from our sponsor this week:

Here is the inspiration photo:
The dress was filled with a pattern from my Crafty Secrets Cd in Photoshop before printing and hand cutting.  I also used a vintage digi paper in the background from Crafty Secrets on the Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD and some linen tape from Tim Holtz Ideology for my sewing item.  The beautiful crinkle ribbon is from our very own Debbie.  You can find some HERE.  Here is a close-up:

The Shabby Tea Room #95 - Time Flies

This week, over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM, we are asking you to create a card/project featuring something with wings and using the inspiration photo.
I chose "Birdie's Nest" from our sponsor this week:

Here is the inspiration photo:

I used the patterns represented in the quilt to add patterns to my image in Photoshop to give it a quilt look.  I love how easy it is to add different colors or patterns to digital images instead of having to cut each one out!  The digital papers are from last week's sponsor, Crafty Secrects, and on the Creating with Vintage Patterns CD.  Here is a close-up:
