JustRite Friday Challenge #066 - Sketch

This past week has flown by and I just realized I hadn't posted my card for the JustRite Friday Challenge. I picked the papers first and then decided to use an older retired set from JustRite Stampers called "Just A Little Caffeine" because the browns just reminded me of this set. I try to use scraps whenever possible but Lord knows I'll NEVER run out of paper - LOL!!

I actually don't drink coffee but having my morning Dr. Pepper is a MUST! I have recently been trying to quit soda altogether but some days I just gotta have it! ;-)

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge and I tried my best to follow the sketch to the letter but I am facinated by some of the other participants take on the sketch and how creative they are. Here is the sketch:

I hope you can tell how I drew inspiration from the photo and incorporated the teal in the paper and pinks in the flowers with a touch of gold in the tag. February is National Cherry Month so I decided to host THE SHABBY TEA ROOM CHALLENGE where I'm asking you to create a card/project featuring cherries in honor of Nat'l Cherry Month.

We received this great template called Hey Cupcake and printable papers from the Farmhouse Fresh collection.

This is the perfect package for SO MANY wonderful goodies!! I decided to use it for a pair of sock cupcakes. It's SO EASY!!! (Plus, I'm on a diet - LOL!!) I used one pair of taller fuzzy socks and rolled each one up from the toe to the top.

For the finishing touch, I added a red button I created with my i-Top and red paper and a few leaves cut from a large flourish tucked underneath. The insert inside made the perfect cupcake holder but you could use it to hold REAL cupcakes or candles or take it out and the possibilities are endless! I gave this to my teenage son's 17 year old girlfriend for Valentine's day. She loved it!!

The Shabby Tea Room #100 - Candy Hearts

This week, over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM, we are asking you to create a card/project with a food theme (chocolate, candy, fruit, etc) and must include hearts.

I used my Cuttlebug folder with candy hearts and colored each heart in pastel chalks. Then, I traced the wording on each candy heart with a red marker. I think they look good enough to eat, don't you?!?

For my focal image, I chose "Lucy Valentine's Girl" from our sponsor this week:

I decided to add a new product to my card that I discovered at CHA last week. It's an Action Wobble Spring! These bring FUN to any project!! You will want to check them out! They are a little hard to take a pic of but they have a spring that tapes to whatever you want to have "life".

I started with a 2 stamps from JustRite Always & Forever Medallion cling set and heat embossed the red medallion with clear irridescent and then cut with the coordinating Nested Medallion die . Then, I stamped to focal image in black and cut with Nested Oval Medallions and colored with my COPICs. Next, I used the new background image called Harlequin Script background.

I added the white doily and my bow is embellished with a heart cut from JustRite Customer Charm Die. The sentiment was from JustRite Your Special Day Medallion cling set and stamped in black AND red ink. Check out this AMAZING prize package...you DEFINITELY won't want to miss out on this one!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #77 - New Things

This week it's all about "New Things" over at MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE! The challenge is to include in your creation a NEW technique, NEW things got for Christmas, NEW NEW NEW! I chose to use my new Cricut Imagine and Cricut Craft Room to create a card today.

I started with the Imagine More cartridge and selected the main image. I didn't modify the image but I DID print an extra butterfly for dimension.

I will tell you that I have had MANY issues using CCR with the Imagine and it took SEVERAL tries before I got ONE good image to cut right. The mat keeps spitting out before it cuts! I know there are several people having this issue with Win7 and I am waiting for a fix to be announced soon. Therefore, I ended up NOT using CCR for the border and cut directly on the Imagine. I was a little disappointed that the holes in the scallop weren't as pictured and quite small so I took a hole punch and punched those by hand. I also had to cut the additional butterfly out by hand from one of the images that never cut on previous attempts. I will continue to determine work-arounds until these problems can be fixed.

JustRite Birthday Card for DAD

Boy! I've had a busy week this week making THREE cards. I normally don't have a need for that but I guess that's the way it goes?? I chose the JUSTRITE CHALLENGE #64 colors again because I LOVE them SO MUCH! This time, I needed a masculine card for my dad and (although not EXTREMELY masculine) I think this worked out nicely!

I used JustRite Fleur De Lis Labels Twenty Cling frame stamped with brown ink and cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty. The center sentiment is from JustRite Birthday Centers Round 1-5/8".

I added twine and a bronze metal star cut with Spellbinders Nested Stars and a Tim Holtz ticket.

The inside was stamped with a retired Nested Sentiment in brown ink.

JustRite Challenge #64 - Deepest Sympathy

It's time to "Sparkle &Shine" over at WHOOPSI DAISY this week! I used an image from sheet306 to make this very festive card:

I chose this beautiful striped paper that was already accented with some great glitter on the red stripes. I added Stickles to her wings and ruffles under her skirt and my gold foil pen for the star and halo.

I colored the image with my COPICs and left it a simple design so the image would take center stage! I wish the pictures did it justice...it's really quite sparkly in person!

It's snowing over at WHOOPSI DAISY this week and all the girls have made some wonderful winter creations for you! I used an image from sheet265 this week to make a unique gift bag:

I combined some scraps of paper and ribbon along with a Martha Stewart snowflake ribbon punch and topped it off with a glittery snowflake ornament.

I colored the image with my COPICs and added a little gold foil pen to match the gold in the paper. Next, I cut with Spellbinders and popped front and center onto the bag! A simple way to add that something special to a plain brown bag!

WHOOPSI DAISY - White on White

Another great challenge over at WHOOPSI DAISY this week! The white on white theme seems to be very popular lately and I hope you can join on this simple and fun challenge! I started with sheet256 and colored with my COPICs in shades of light blue:

The background is textured with a 5 x 7 Cuttlebug folder from the winter bundle last year and the image is cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two.

It's a little hard to see but I added a little Stickles on the wings and used my dauber to add some Momento Cantaloupe ink to resemble the glow of the candle. The sentiment is from JustRite.

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE - Decorate For Christmas

OK, I shouldn't admit it, but last year I didn't even get my tree up?!? I know, I know.....I could hear the gasps from here! Hopefully this challenge at MY SHERI CRAFTS will help get you in the mood to create a project that will help you to Decorate For Christmas! I made a wreath using Spellbinders Nested Mittens and retired Create-a-Flake 1:

I found these great note cards in the dollar bin at Michael's with a sweater print on them and bought almost all they had - LOL!! I cut the mittens out (2 to each card) and then embellished with my white Sakura gel pen to look like stitching. The snowflakes were layered and popped for dimension and I bought little styrofoam balls and cut in half for snowballs.

I added little clips on the back so I can easily change out the decorations on my wreath. I will try to make it something else later but for now I just LOVE this wreath for the holidays!

This is the hi-top template. I cut mine with my Cricut Expression and it was pretty easy! I went with a pastel purple & white check because I just decorated for her baby shower in shades of purple as well. I add the circular logo I printed on my pc to mimic a Converse sneaker and finished it off with some purple eyelets and my Crop-a-dile.

A stamp on the back with my JustRite Brayton font stamps and this little sneaker is DONE! These would be PERFECT for SO MANY occasions.....Don't you think?!?

I think I managed all the colors listed and I think this turned out REALLY cute! The papers are from DCWV Linen Closet and they were perfect for this challenge! I printed the image twice and colored the first image with my COPICs. Then, I colored only the flowers on the 2nd image and hand cut the flowers to pop onto the first image for dimension.

I have been trying to ink my edges a little darker so they show up in photos and I think I gave this a nice vintage look!

JustRite Christmas Linky Party

It's a party over at JustRite Stampers blog for the next week! You will want to join in on the fun and get some of those Christmas cards started (if you haven't already)! I made a postal-friendly card this time but I hope to get a few more in before the deadline on the 8th.

The border and center are from JustRite Blizzard Bunch and I cut them using Spellbnders Classic Ovals and colored with my COPICs. The papers are just some scraps from last year and I add a piece of lace and a rhinestone flourish.

The poinsettia is Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia. This is one of my favorites this year! Even if you don't own any *yet*, be sure to stop by and see all the wonderful creations everyone has made with some of the many Christmas stamps at JustRite Stamps. They are one of my most favorite things!

JustRite Friday Challenge #61 - Get Scrappy

I finally got around to posting my card for the challenge at JustRite Stampers. The challenge is to use our scraps and boy do I have scraps! I had some papers leftover from the baby banner I did a few weeks ago and already cut pieces just waiting to be stamped! I even had a purple flower that has been sitting there for over a month and it just needed to be glued together.

Once again, I messed up with my inking on the edges so I just fixed it with some stickles to cover it up. It kinda went with that glttery ribbon too ;-)

Sometimes I mess up something when stamping or coloring but I'm terrible about never throwing anything away. I have 3 drawers FULL of scraps! Here's an example:

OK, I know the error is small but I couldn't cover it up on the project I was making it for and ultimately decided to go in a different direction anyway.

Next, I stamped a border from JustRite 2" Old Friends originals and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

(I'll just cover it up with that flower and no one will ever know - LOL)

The Shabby Tea Room #86 - Homespun Fall

We are honored to have our own Tea Room creator, Debbie, as our sponsor this week at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM where the challenge is to create a card/project inspired by the photo with a fall scene! She has the most FABULOUS shabby ribbons in her Etsy store HERE and gave us some great colors to work with.

I am very pleased with my card this week and think it has a definite "shabby" feel (which is so difficult for me)! I made the leaf myself from Spellbinders Nested Leaves and blended the various inks and spritz with a walnut stain. After it dried, I added the veins. Doesn't it look real!?!

I inked all the edges and then added that scrumptious ribbon as the final touch. Here is the inspiration this week:

The Shabby Tea Room #85 - Happy Halloween

This is the last week to get those last-minute Halloween projects complete and, over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM, we are gonna help you with a challenge this week! You must create a card or project with a Halloween theme using the colors purple, orange, black & neutrals w/ twine or raffia. Our sponsor this week is:

There is the most wonerful hand-made flowers and svg cut files so you will definitely want to check it out! I went with a sign instead of a card this week. I found this great paper from DCWV and thought it would fit perfectly on my chipboard sign.

The purple piece was part of a kit and I just punch it out of a sheet with several sayings and the letters were left-over from a banner I did a few weeks ago.

I stamped a few extra flourishes on the background and punched 2 holes with my Crop-a-dile to tie the ribbon. Very simple project!

WHOOPSI DAISY - Fairy Magic

There is a great challenge over at WHOOPSI DAISY this week where we want to see some fairies. If you don't have any, you can pop over to the Whoopsi Daisy Store where Linnie has created several for you to pick from! I chose an image from sheet280:

I colored her with my COPICs and hand cut her to pop in the center. The teal accent is from Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents. and I backed with some vellum so the image would stand out. I found the perfect button to match the paper and added it to some Martha Stewart ribbon.

I added some Stardust Stickles to her wings (though hard to see) and a little sentiment from JustRite Garden Fairy Seeds cling set stamped with brown ink directly to the paper. I hope you will join us this week for a very fun challenge!

JustRite Friday Challenge #60 - SKETCH

I couldn't resist doing another card for JustRite Challenge this week. I used JustRite 2" Happy Halloween stamps again but this time I used the witched boot. I happened to find another button that just "spoke to me" - LOL!

This kinda took on a Willy Wonka theme but I just love all the colors together and used a variety of scraps and embellishments I haven't had out in a while. I even found some ribbon that matched my paper perfectly!!

I used COPICs to color my image and then popped it onto the border which was enhanced by a Martha Stewart pre-cut doily (which I colored purple to match) and a green Spellbinders Pinking Circle. I also used some of my new Spellbinders Classic Scallop Edgabilities. This was very fun to make!!

Whether creating for Halloween or Thanksgiving, this week is all about the PUMPKINS at MY SHERI CRAFTS! I just couldn't wait to do something with my JustRite 2" Happy Halloween stamps! I chose the cute little kitten in the pumpkin and colored with my COPICs.

I used up some scraps and also some punches I have neglected. I also found that cute candy corn button in a bag of holiday buttons! I love it when that happens! This was also perfect for JUSTRITE CHALLENGE #60 where they are having a sketch challenge:

It's not too early to start working on those Christmas cards and, over at WHOOPSI DAISY, we're going to give you some incentive! I started with an image from one of my favorite sheets this holiday....sheet256.

I used a few of my new Spellbinders die: Layered Poinsettia and Nested Postage Stamp.

This week at WHOOPSI DAISY it's all about LACE and PEARLS. I went with this cute little witch from sheet300 and colored with my COPICs.

I popped it onto a circle that I inked with Momento London Fog to look like the moon and then backed it with a purple Spellbinders Lacey Doily Motifs.

The sentiment is from JustRite Halloween Mini Sentiments. I didn't have any black pearls so I airbrushed some white ones with my black copic marker. A simple festive halloween card!

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #70 - THINK PINK

Today starts Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I had a great idea for the THINK PINK challenge at MY SHERI CRAFTS! I altered a cardboard drink carrier as a unique way to support a few friends that are doing the "Race for a Cure" walk/run. While I am not doing the race, I thought it would be a nice gesture to show my support for those that are and give them a great momento to take home with them.

I found these travel cups with the pink band at Wal-Mart a few months back on clearance and bought all they had at $1 each! They were perfect for this theme and I really didn't need to embellish them. The drink carrier was almost thrown away, but I can't have that!?! I knew it had great potential and kept it for just such an occasion. I simply added a little paper and punched a border with my EK Success Wide Scallop border punch.

The shoe was an svg cut file I found on Lesleyanne's blog HERE and I modified it a bit. The pink ribbons are cut using a Cuttlebug 2 x 2 Awareness Ribbon die on my Cuttlebug. I wanted to add some vinyl to the cups but didn't have any more pink vinyl so I just left them plain because I want them to have a hot cup of cocoa before the race and didn't want them to feel bad about tearing paper embellishments off to drink it. I hope you like my take on this challenge!

THE SHABBY TEA ROOM - Chevrons

This week over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM we are helping our sponsor, JustRite Stampers, debut some of their new stamps. This week we got to work with their French inspired line of cling stamps to create a card or project with Chevrons, and use the colors, Blue, Green, Orange,Yellow, Brown and Cream.

I started with a stamp from JustRite Stampers Shabby Chic Labels Four cling set. I had cut the image with Spellbinders Labels Four after coloring with my COPICs in various shades of orange, blue and green and backed with another Labels Four piece in blue cardstock. The papers I chose already had that cool chevron pattern and gold foil key and butterfly. It is from the DCWV Tradewinds Mat Stack.

I added the doily, coordinating striped paper, chipboard flourish, leaf accent and orange bow with button. The sentiment was the perfect final touch from JustRite Happy Everything Mini Tag set (a definite must-have!) Here's this week's inspiration photo:

WHOOPSI DAISY - Make Your Own Embellishments

This is a very fun challenge over at WHOOPSI DAISY this week where we are challenging you to make your own embellishments! I just love to see what everyone comes up with! I chose to do a Halloween card this week with an image from sheet300 and made my own spiderweb out of black hot glue sticks.

I started by created a web with my Martha Stewart glue gun and black hot glue as shown on the mat included with my kit:

I picked out this great paper that I found last year at Tuesday Morning and made a frame with the orange stripe paper with Spellbinders Polka Dot Frame that I didn't emboss so there's actually no polka dots - LOL!

I colored the image with my COPICs and layered behind the popped up frame. After the web dried, I positioned it in the corner and trim the edges to fit my frame. The sentiment is JustRite Stampers Witch Way To The Treats 1-3/16".

This is a VERY exciting week over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM where we are introducing some new shabby girls. I will have their links at the bottom of my post so you can visit and say hello! This week it's 'Vintage White' and you are to create a photo inspired card/project using all neutrals - white, cream, kraft, brown & black.

Our sponsor this week is ELLEPHANTASTIC and they have a wonderful collection of goodies on their site. I actually chose these 2 FREEBIES I found on their site and grouped them together into one adorable centerpiece.

These images are just perfect for a baby shower card I needed to make. I just printed out and colored with my COPICs in shades of tan and brown and then added a little faux stitching around the edge using the Spellbinders Classic Circle that I cut it with as a template.

Next, I used my new Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tag Accents die to cut out the tag and, while I still had it in the die, I used it to stencil the center with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink and also used a pen to make the dots using the die as well. The sentiment was just a random stamp I had laying around. The background is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.

WHOOPSI DAISY - SHABBY CHIC

The challenge this week at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGES is SHABBY CHIC. This seems to be a very challenging style for me. I think I lean more towards the 'chic' side with my style but I keep trying anyway - LOL! I used an image I've had a while and I'm not sure what sheet it's on but I just love it?!?

I used some Martha Stewart paper with gold foil trees and soft teal colors....PRETTY! The image was colored with my COPICs and then cut with Spellbinders Labels Five. Then, I went around the edges with a gold foil pen.

I created the snowflakes from Spellbinders Create a Flake dies 1 & 2 again and simply added some ruffled lace and a button! Very easy card this week!

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #69 - SEW SIMPLE

This week the challenge at MY SHERI CRAFTS blog is SEW SIMPLE! All you need to do is create a card or project featuring some kind of sewing, real or faux, and that's it! I chose to do a little zigzag stitch with my sewing machine on this banner I am doing for an upcoming baby shower for my niece.

I decided to go with 10 different coordinating papers in a mixture of solids and patterns and sew a panel across the middle of each one. I think it gives a nice detail to the edges when placed on top of another piece of paper. The pennants were welded from Cricut Sophisticated using the border feature and the pennant and a scalloped border several times to fit. I created in Cricut Craft Room and cut 3 different layers (1 for the white base, 1 for the black border, 1 for the patterned piece). Then, I hand cut the centers in coordinating papers and taped before sewing on my $59 brother sewing machine (that I bought just to sew on cards - lol).

This is actually only half of the banner because I wasn't finished with her middle name yet and it is SO hard to take pics of banners anyway! The full banner will be 10 pennants long but you get the idea. I will show finished pics later on my blog with more items I am making for the shower. I added butterflies and flowers from my stash and even made some custom striped paper in Photoshop to match her sheets in her bedding set. Here is her bedding set that I drew inspiration from:

I hope she likes it! I'm excited to decorate a family party for the first time!

The Shabby Tea Room #79 - Boys Will Be Boys

The challenge this week at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM may be VERY challenging for some because you are asked to make a masculine themed project. I tried to take inspiration from this week's photo while using the image provided to us by our sponsor this week. I used a spotlight technique on this card because I thought coloring the entire image might make it look more feminine but I just LOVE this image!

I started by opening the image in Photoshop and changing the color to a light brown and then printing it on a cream cardstock and then printed a second time in black on white cardstock. Then, I colored the white one with my COPICs and cut out only a portion with my circle punch and matched it to the light brown image and popped it on top. Here is the inspiration photo:

WHOOPSI DAISY - More Than One Fold

Somehow this project got deleted so I am re-posting....hope this works! This was for the WHOOPSI DAISY challenge. I chose this sweet little angel from sheet256 and made my first attempt at this center step card. I just love how it turned out!

I cut the cloud and stars on my Cricut and the snowflakes are Spellbinders.

I added lots of rhinestone flourishes and glitter.

Colored with my COPICs and hand cut the angel. She's so sweet!

The Shabby Tea Room #78 - Pink Wedded Bliss

Great challenge this week over at THE SHABBY TEA ROOM ! All you need to do is create a card/project with a wedding/anniversary theme using pink, black and neutrals. This week's sponsor is Robyn's Fetish again and I picked this great rose image.

I printed out and colored with my COPICs in soft pinks and greens to match my DCWV paper. Then I cut with a Spellbinders Labels Four and added a little Stickles to the petals!

The white doily is in a package of different style pre-made doiles by Martha Stewart and sits on top of pink cardstock I cut with Spellbinders Floral Doily Motifs! The sentiment is JustRite Birthday Wishes and accented with my COPICs and some rhinestone circles I found at Michael's.

WHOOPSI DAISY - BLING IT

The challenge this week at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGES is to add lots of BLING! I used an image from sheet280. I don't think I have colored this style of fairy before??

I used a piece of scrap paper my stash so I'm not exactly sure what it is. The pattern had lots of shimmery accents in it but it's hard to see in the photo very well??

The image was colored with my COPICs to match and cut with my big Marvy circle and scalloped punches. I added LOTS of rhinestone flourishes and some Stickles to the image (even though they were clear, they look a little teal after drying because of all the pretty colors it has). The border punch is EK Success Circles Large border punch. I hope you will check out Whoopsi Daisy this week!!

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #68 - SPECIAL DELIVERY

Some of you may have previously read on MY SHERI CRAFTS blog that Peachy (one of our DT) is expecting a special delivery in the next coming weeks (a little boy) and their first child! In honor of this momentous occasion, we are asking everyone to make a boy baby card to show her some love. I have a new addition as well....NO, it's not a new baby....it's my new Cricut Imagine!! This was the perfect opportunity for me to try it out but it definitely was NOT easy?!? LOL

I used the Cricut Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge for this little cutie and then cut a couple extra layers and popped on top. That's where all the trouble began................

I won't even go into the trouble I had setting it up and doing the update the Imagine required and the 45 minutes on hold with the helpdesk!!! UGH!!!

An-y-way.... I wanted to create a base mat for the front of my 5" x 6.5" card in a coordinating pattern but found out that it is nearly impossible to print a pattern on that size exactly. So, I picked a scalloped image and flooded it with the yellow pattern you see and after printing it I discovered that it flooded all the little layers on top of it (hence the jumbled pattern and mismatching in the background). The piece was too long to fit the front of my card and I didn't want to cut off the pretty scallops so I just folded in half and popped the onsie on top! DH said he couldn't notice the mistake and after spending SEVERAL hours on this....I just called it done! I kinda thought it just looked like an old baby quilt - LOL! I most like will re-do it before sending to Peachy but she would probably get a chuckle out of it if I left it?? Here's the inside:

JustRite Friday Challenge #57 - Shabby Chic

Time for another challenge over at the JustRite Challenge blog. The challenge is shabby chic and I have to say that this is definitely one of my most challenging styles! I think I mostly have trouble with the "shabby" part??

I found this beautiful paper with blue flowers and gold trim from DCWV Tradewinds mat stack and was inspired to use it with one of the stamps from JustRite Shabby Chic Labels Four cling set. I colored with my COPICs and cut with the coordinating Spellbinders Labels Four. I also heat embossed the larger stamp from JustRite Kindness cling set with gold onto navy cardstock and cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty.

I added some gold to the flowers I colored with my gold leaf pen to mimic the paper and stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner. A little lace and pearls and a few butterflies from one of Martha Stewart punches and I think this card is done!

Just a very quick card! I stamped directly on blue argyle paper and then added some diamond Stickles on their bows and collars (it's a little hard to see?)

WHOOPSI DAISY - 2 AUTUMN COLORS

The challenge this week at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGES is to use 2 Autumn colors. I used an image from sheet184 (it's one of my favorites)!! I was so happy to finally get to color it!!

I also used one of my favorite mat stacks from DCWV called Hippie Chic. It has some great retro papers and colors and reminds me of when I was young. The pattern I chose had lots of shimmer so I picked an orange foil cardstock from American Crafts and cut with Spellbinders Labels Ten to really set off the image!

JustRite Friday Challenge #56 - Shaped Holiday Card or Tag

It's been quite a while since there's been a JustRite Challenge and I'm SO EXCITED they are back!! I find that I am more likely to use a particular brand of stamps when the challenge requires it and so nice to see how others use the stamps as well.

I made a shaped card out of the largest Spellbinders Lacey Square and cut a Spellbinders Ribbon Tag out of black cardstock. The sentiment is from JustRite Happy Everything Mini Tag Kit and I also used the smallest rectangle die to cut it out.

I colored the main image with my COPICs and accented with red Stickles on the scarf and diamond Stickles on his hat (although it's hard to see in the photo). After cutting with Spellbinders Classic Circles, I then placed it on a pre-made eyelet doily from Martha Stewart. I better hurry because time is almost up!! TFL!!

There is definitely a FUN challenge going on over at WHOOPSI DAISY CHALLENGES! I used an image from sheet223....isn't she cute?!?

I colored with my COPICs and cut with Spellbinders Classic Oval and Scalloped Oval. Next, I used a Spellbinders Nested Ice Cream Cone and embossed with some fun embossing folders. The sentiment is computer generated and cut with a Spellbinders Tag die.

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #67 - VACATION

I hope that many of you had wonderful vacations this summer or are planning some for later this year! No vacation for me this year but I just had to make a card for my son who is starting his 2nd year of college next week The challenge this week at My Sheri CRAFTS is for "vacations" but mine is more of a "vacation is over" card.

This image from Mo Manning called "It's Hot" reminds me of my oldest son when he was younger. I could totally see him making his own vacation in the back yard like this - LOL! He currently does not live with me so I thought I could drop him a note since his summer vacation is almost over and before it's time to get back to the books.

I used a little Ranger Glossy Accents on the water to make it shiny but it's hard to tell in the photos. I tried to get a good pic of it, but you get the idea.

They have some VERY creative templates and projects to use with your Cricut (or similar) OR cut by hand. I chose the Ribbon Keeper because I have an over-abundance of ribbons spools and this was the perfect solution!

This is the REGULAR size template. I cut mine with my Cricut Expression and it was SO EASY! I went with a classic black & white theme to go with my craft space. The black cardstock made the entire base and then I decorated with some damask paper and POLKA DOT ribbon for an accent. I finished it off with a metal tag from my stash:

These will make a BEAUTIFUL display for all my pretty ribbons and lace...Don't you think?!?

WHIMSY INSPIRATION CHALLENGE #1 - Ribbons and Bows

I decided to make this cute door hanger using an image from Crissy Armstrong called "Forget Me Not". I picked pink and green scrap papers from my stash and colored the image to match with my COPICs. I also added some Heather Flower Soft for dimmension.

I used an empty cereal box for the base of my hanger and cut with my Cricut from Cricut Classmate My Community cartridge and then cut 2 more at 8" in green cardstock (one flipped for the back).

Even if you don't have kids going off to school you can still join in on the fun by making a clever bookmark or a unique journal cover. I have been wanting to do a perforated bookmark card for a while so here's my take on one:

I used up some scraps here and even a card base that I had messed up while stamping. I just turned it inside out and decorated on top of it. I started with a pre-made card that was 5" x 6.5".

I used my scoreboard and this handy little tool I found in the sewing department and poked holes down one side at 2.5". I wanted the bookmark to fold over the page and be held together with magnets to it won't fall out. I cut tiny strips of magnet and placed at the bottom of both ends.

Now, when you give a card, they can have something to take away from it ;-)

Whimsy Stamps Blog Hop - August Digi Release

I am pleased to announce the August Digi New Release Blog Hop that starts today over at the WHIMSY STAMPS INSPIRATION BLOG. While I am not in the hop rotation this month, I am still participating in the events with my project representing this brand new digi by Kathryne from StampArt Design called "Gopher It".

I went through my scrap paper drawer for this one and found this plaid that I thought was perfect! The image is colored with my COPICs and attached to a Spellbinders Lacey Square in kraft paper to match the card base. I cut the sentiment with Spellbinders Grommet Tags and added the grommets with my Crop-A-Dile.

The three little golf tees were cut with my Cricut Expression using the Cricut Every Day Paper Dolls cartridge. This is a great masculine card and I thought it would be great for my cousin's son who plays golf at college. TFL!!

The challenge at The Shabby Tea Room this week is to create a card/project mixing and matching pattern papers, use at least 3 different patterned papers (or make your own 3).

WHOOPSI DAISY- Anything but Square

This was a great challenge at WHOOPSI DAISY for me this week because I hardly ever make shaped cards and it forced me out of my comfort zone. I used this little boy image from sheet268.

I flipped the image horizontally so it would fit the card better. I love that you can resize and flip digital images! The card was cut twice from Cricut Boys Will Be Boys Cartridge and layered to put the sentiment inside:

I stamped the inside with JustRite Times New Roman font in black ink.

I cut the other layers in various papers and colored the image with my COPICs and popped it onto the front of the card. I hope you will join us in this challenge this week! TFL!!

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #65 - PARTY DECOR

We're having a party at MY SHERI CRAFTS this week! I had so much fun making this banner for my cousin's new grandbaby! This project was full of firsts for me!

This was the first time using my Spellbinders Nested Pennants and Lacey Pennants and also my first time making rosettes! I decided to do the banner in all pastel colors since they don't know the sex of the baby yet.

The yellow one was hard to photograph???

I chose 4 pastel pieces of cardstock and then stamped with coordinating Watzing Mouse Vintage Banner gingham stamp with Versamark watermark ink. Next, I heat embossed with white and placed on a white lacey background. The centers are stamped with JustRite Monogram borders and centers and accented with circular rhinestones. This is a little on the small side since the largest pennant is only 4" x 6" but I plann to add to the banner later to make it longer.

WHIMSY WEDNESDAYS - Pirate Polly

I am starting a new series today where I will be featuring a new Whimsy Stamp every week on wednesday. The first image is from Meljen's Digital Stamps called Pirate Polly. I used what I thought were typical pirate colors:

I couldn't decide what colors to use on the parrot but went with just shades of green and yellow but I think it would look great in a myriad of colors!

The challenge at The Shabby Tea Room was a little challenging for this week. We are suppose to use a charm in our design and I have never done anything with a charm before so I didn't have any in my stash??

The heart charm I used is actually a lone earring I found in a drawer and thought it would be perfect!

This week at WHOOPSI DAISY it's time to sparkle and shine! I chose one of my favorite color combos for this one and, of course, these adorable ballerina images that Linnie creates make it so easy!

I never did ballet when I was young but I love these images anyway...they're SO CUTE! This one is from sheet9 and I colored with coordinating COPICs. The paper is from DCWV and didn't need much added because of the wonderful flourishes in different tones and glitter.

It's never too early to get started on the Christmas cards I guess?!? This week at Whoopsi Daisy we are challenging you to do just that! Here's what I came up with:

I started with a scrap of paper in red and black and added a white embossed Spellbinders frame that I had left over from another project. I colored the image from sheet90 with my COPICs and hand cut the images before added some Polar White Flower Soft to the dog, hat and cuffs and Ranger Glossy Accents to the boots.

The sentiment is from JustRite A Warm Hello 1-5/8" center stamped onto a scrap piece of vellum.

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #63 - Independence Day

I felt like I have done several patriotic cards lately and looks like I'm not quite done yet??? Well, I DO love making them and I'm thinking of donating some cards to Operation Write Home. If you don't know about this great cause, you can read about it here. So we are changing things up a little at My Sheri CRAFTS Challenge by changing our challenges to a TWO WEEK CHALLENGE for the busy summer months. We hope that you will take a little time to spend with your families and go on those much needed vacations but STILL find time to join us in our fun challenges! Here's the quick card I made this week with scraps from my flag day project a few weeks ago:

I started with this GREAT image from WHIMSY STAMPS by Meljen's Designs and you can find it here. I then colored with my COPICs and inked the edges with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Inks.

I added a little sentiment from JustRite Just Because Mini Sentiments directly on the center image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. A little stitching around the edge and some crochet lace and THAT'S IT... VERY simple! TFL!!

Here is this week's inspiration photo:

I started with Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose Vintage Background and stamped onto pink polka dot paper with Momento London Fog ink and accented the sentiment with black gel pen before stamping to give it focus.

Then, I stamped again on white paper with black ink and hand cut the leaves and flower elements with my COPICs. They make a matching die cut with this set but I did not have it?? I used the colors in the photo for inspiration and added a big satin bow.

Well, I have been a little under the weather this week so, when I saw this image, I knew it was perfect for me to do for our SUMMER / BEACH THEME at My Sheri CRAFTS Challenge!

The image is from the "Crabby Cranston" collection designed by Crissy Armstrong for WHIMSY STAMPS. I colored with my COPICs and cut with Spellbinders Classic Circles. The sentiment was cut with Spellbinders Grommet Tags and colored to match.

The Shabby Tea Room #66 - Pink Lemonade

This week, over at The Shabby Tea Room, Debbie has a yummy inspiration photo where the challenge is to use PINK, GREEN, NEUTRAL and FLORALS. I used the photo to pick this water pitcher image from our sponsor this week TIFFANY DOODLES.

I made it a pitcher of pink lemonade instead with glittery ice cubes (thanks to my Stickles). Here is the inspiration photo:

That looks HEAVENLY! I printed the image and colored with my COPICs. Then I cut and attached to a Spellbinders Beaded Circle in lime green. I added some dew drops all around the edge and printed the umbrella again on the same patterned paper and cut it out to pop on top of the white one. The sentiment is from JustRite Charms collection and attached to a pretty pink silk bow with a button and twine.

I used paper from DCWV Hippie Chic colored in coordinating colors with my COPICs. I framed my image with Spellbinders Frameabilities Polka Dot Frame in navy and added an orange scalloped punch. The sentiment is JustRite A Warm Hello 1-5/8" center stamped in denim ink.

MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #61 - FATHER'S DAY

It's proably no surprise that we're doing a FATHER'S DAY challenge at MY SHERI CRAFTS this week! As you all know, it can definitely be a challenge to do those masculine cards but it keeps us on our toes...right?!? I have been SO BUSY this week with my day job that I almost didn't make my own deadline - LOL!! So, this one is pretty simple.....but aren't most masculine cards???

I used a new stamp from JustRite You Are The Best Cling Set and colored with my COPICs. I cust with the coordinating Spellbinders Blossoms Three and popped it front and center.

The paper is Echo Park Little Girl and I distressed the edges and added a piece of brown satin ribbon and 3 dew drops from my stash.
