This is my first Flourishes challenge and also my first Whoopsi Daisy challenge.  I thought these two challenges went well together and since I don't have any Flourishes stamps (yet?) then I just used what I had.  I have had some of these Whoopsi Daisy images for a few months but been a little intimidated by them.  I have been coloring stamps less then 6 months and it's definitely a work in progress!  Here is the adorable digi image I chose to work with:

I just love this image!  I colored with my COPICs and added a little Polar White Flower Soft to her collar and sleeves.  The challenge at Whoopsi Daisy was to "Get All Girlie" and I think this does it?!  I have 4 boys and don't do girlie very often so this was a lot of fun!  At Flourishes, we were challenged by Mona to use a doily.  The one in the background was too large to fit on the card so I cut it in half and the lace flower reminded me of a doily too.  The sentiment is cut twice from a Scrap-Mart exclusive die and stamped with JustRite Birthday Wishes center 1-5/8".  Here is the inside of the card:

By making this a "Thank You" card, it also qualifies for the Flower Soft Challenge #13 (FSC13) over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #52

This is the first time I have joined the challenge at Cricut Cardz Challenge.  There are so many great challenges out there that I wish I had time to take part in!?  I used this challenge to help me with another Holiday card set.  I packaged them in sets of 8 and made them simple so they can be mailed.  Not my usual style but I am making quite a few so it is quite necessary.  Here is my entry:
Sentiment is cut from Cricut cartidge Joys of the Season.

Jitterbuggin' Challenge - Gifts Galore

I have been super busy lately and every week I intend to join the fun over at the Jitterbuggin' Challenge but always fall behind.  I used their challenge to make some Holiday card sets.  I packaged them in sets of 8.  I'm keeping them pretty simple for mailing.  Here is the set that fits the challenge this week:
The gift with bow is from Cricut cartridge Joys of the Season.

This week on Mona's challenge CR84FN5 we were supposed to make a project with her colors selected.  Here is her color palette:
The picture has a lot of lighter shades but I went a little darker and took the names of the colors literally.  I immediately thought of a gingerbread man but have seen so many lately and wanted to do something I hadn't done before.  I found this cute reindeer QuicKutz die and thought it would be perfect!  Here is my card:

Isn't he cute?!?  I just love googly eyes!  The stamp is JustRite 1-3/16" Holiday Cheer Borders & Centers and I thought it went well with the theme.  I also embossed some brown paper with Sizzix/Tim Holtz Alterations Woodgrain folder and accented with Distress inks.  Here is a close-up so you can read the stamp:

I wasn't sure about this concept when I started but I just loved how it turned out!  Now, I can't wait to eat me some turkey tomorrow!

JustRite Friday Challenge #45 - Celebrate Good Times

This week we are celebrating good times at JustRite Inspiration.  I decided to make invitations for our holiday party.  I really wanted to do classic black & white.  We try to have small get togethers every year but this is the first time I have made invitations.  Here is my card:

The sentiment is from an older JustRite Big Occasions 1-5/8" Centers & Borders set and cut with Spellbinders Pinking Circles.  The background label is stamped with Waltzing Mouse Very Vintage Labels No. 1 and coordinates with Spellbinders Labels One.  I added black rhinestones and sheer ribbon.  The sentiment on the inside is perfect for this challenge!  Here is the inside:

The sentiment is from JustRite Friendship Nested Sentiments and the flourishes are Inkadinkado.  TFL!!

WALTZING MOUSE Sketch Challenge #24

This week I decided to join the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge again.  I really like these stamps and just bought them recently so this gives me a little push to use them.  Here is this week's sketch:

I chose to do another Christmas card.  This one was pretty simple so I put it together pretty quickly last night.  Here is my version:

I used some striped paper from the Paper Studio along with some flowers I believe I got at Ms and cream ribbon from my stash.  Here's a close-up:

I stamped the image from Holiday Labels No.14 first in red and then the sentiment from Compliments of the Season in black.  I also added the black line around the image with a black pen for more depth.

I came across this "Popcorn the Bear" stamp and thought that I needed to color him for the MY SHERI CRAFTS challenge this week.  I just started coloring in April so I have been a little intimidated coloring people or animals so I had forgotten that I had these stamps.  I've been practicing and thought it was much easier than I thought?!?   Here's what I came up with:

Isn't he cute!  I decided to just make the balloons all different colors instead of trying to make them match.  I thought the AC paper made all the colors pop.  Here is a close-up of my coloring (remember, this is my first bear??):
I'm sure I will get better with shading in time but I thought it turned out pretty good!  TFL!!

WALTZING MOUSE Sketch Challenge #23

This is my first Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge and I am so glad I found it!  I just got some new stamps recently and needed a little challenge to get me going.  Here is the sketch they had for us this week:
I stamped a sentiment from Compliments Of The Season and some K & Company paper.  I thought the paper was cute with the sentiment I chose.  Here is my version:

The sentiment was cut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags and accented with my COPICs as well as the Spellbinders Circle.  The bells were done in mirror paper with a Martha Stewart punch and popped with foam dots..

The blue corner is embossed with a snow flurry Cuttlebug folder I think from last year's HSN bundle.  I topped off with a matching blue bow colored with my COPICs and faux stitching with my white Sakura gel pen.

I made this quick card for my hubby's birthday which is today!  We are in a band and he plays guitar so I made this rockin' card with one of his picks I found in the dryer - lol

The background is DCWV Rockstar paper and I layered with silver mirror paper embossed with my Cuttlebug A2 Diamond folder.  Here's a close-up:

I stamped with Inkadinkado Rock Star clear stamps, popped the pick and added some music inspired ribbon.  Here is the inside:

(He loved it!  I'm SO glad!)

I am SO excited to be this week's guest designer on Mona's Cupcake's Creations Color Challenge this week!  I have never been "showcased" on any blog before so this was quite an honor.  When Mona told me the colors this week, I immediately thought of my BFF who has EVERYTHING purple!  I called to ask her what kind of card she needed because I had to make a purple card.  She said she would love for me to make something for her mother's 70th birthday party next week.  OK, so on with the color inspiration for this week...here are the beautiful colors Mona chose this week:

Here is my purple birthday card:

I used a JustRite Birthday 1-5/8" center surrounded by a Waltzing Mouse Very Vintage Labels No.2 frame cut with the coordinating Spellbinders Labels Two (once in white and then traced and hand-cut in purple). Then, I added a little lace and some rhinestones and topped it off with some gorgeous deep purple ribbon.

The inside was stamped with JustRite Birthday Wishes 2-3/8" center and a JustRite All Occasion Sentiment with a couple of accents from Waltzing Mouse Labels No.14 for that added touch.  I just love my new Waltzing Mouse stamps!!

The envelope was embossed with a Cuttlebug 7" Measure for Measure embossing folder and stamped with JustRite Brayton Font.  I hope you enjoyed my first ever guest spot project!?  We hope you will stop by and show us YOUR purple creations!!

JustRite Friday Challenge #44 - Color Challenge

I was a little perplexed with this week's challenge at JustRite Inspiration??  I could not for the life of me think of what to do with these colors.  Then, it hit me today when I was do laundry and I picked up these jeans with brown stitching on the pockets and THAT WAS IT!!  (Needless to say, I didn't finish the laundry -- lol) Here are the colors so you can see what I'm talking about:

I bought this pocket stamp from the Heartfelt Creations booth a few months ago at a local craft fair and hadn't been inspired to use it yet.  I love this pocket!!  Here's my take on it:

The paper is Core'dinations and it is perfect to replicate denim!  Just a little sanding on the edges is the perfect touch to make it look more authentic.  I had trouble getting the brown stitching to show up and I don't have a sewing machine (yet) so I came up with a great solution!  I started by stitching with my white Sakura pen and THEN I went back over with the brown one.  The white stitching showed up a lot better but the brown went with the color scheme.

Next, I stamped an image from JustRite Plant A Little Love 3-1/4" in Momento Rich Cocoa ink on white paper.  I stamped a total of 5 times (3 for the main images and 2 for added layers).  I colored with my COPICs and popped them as shown.  I also added a little brown Ultra Fine Flower Soft  and Gold Stickles to the the centers.

For the sentiment, I chose a center from JustRite Seeds Of Kindness 1-5/8" and accented with a rust Spellbinders Large Petite Scallop border and a little shading with matching COPICs.  I think this is one of my favorite cards so far?!?  TFL!!

I often look at the AD INSPIRATION CHALLENGE on the cricut messageboard for inspiration (it IS in the title you know) and try to participate whenever possible.  I haven't done as good as I would like to but, sometimes when I look at it, I think of "just the right paper" that I saw while pilfering through my stacks -- LOL!!  This was one of those times, so I whipped up this card in literally 10 minutes using scraps and embellishments I happen to have laying around.  Sorry,  no cricut this time??  I am in the process of re-organizing my craft space and it is completely buried right now!!  The paper is AC and the stamped sentiment is JustRite.  Here ya go:

CMIT's ATC Tuesday#2 *PLUS* PTT#20 Challenge

I decided to mix a couple challenges together by doing my first ever ATC (Artist Trading Cards) for the ATC Tuesday Challenge on the new Creating Memories In Time blog mixed with the photo inspiration from Party Time Tuesday #20.  Not sure if they have such a thing as birthday ATCs but if not, they should! LOL

Here is the little 2.5" x 3.5" ATC:

Isn't it cute?!?  Here is the inspiration photo from Party Time Tuesday #20:

I cut red cardstock to 2.5" x 3.5" and layered with a slightly smaller piece of white that I had stamped with a music background stamp.  The sentiment from JustRite Just A Note set is stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and framed with Spellbinders Small Petite Scallop in red.  The music notes are a Cuttlebug die I got at Big Lots a while back.  Hope you like it!

I just LOVE the colors at "Cupcake Creations Color Challenge - CR84FN3" this week!   I decided to combine it with the sketch challenge over at "Just Us Girls #58".  Look at these beautiful colors Mona picked for us this week:

And here is the sketch from the JUGS challenge:

Here is my super girly card....I LOVE IT!!!:

The stem is a stamp from Heartfelt Creations stamped in green chalk ink and the pink sentiment is from JustRite All Occasion Nested Sentiments and cut with a Spellbinders tag die.

JustRite Friday Challenge #43 - Show Your Support

This week at JustRite Inspiration we are "Showing Support".  I chose to make a sympathy card by request of a friend.  I wanted to make this pretty simple and elegant but also have it fit in an envelope.  I started with the paper which had this beautiful pearlized sheen and the sentiment that my friend chose.  Here is this week's card:
I used my new JustRite Sympathy Nested Sentiments stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink.  For the frame I used Spellbinders Labels Fourteen with a coordinating stamp from The Waltzing Mouse Holiday Labels No. 14 set stamped in silver pigment.  Here's a close-up:

I really think this turned out nice for my friend to give to a special person that lost a child!  TFL!!

Mona Pendleton from Cupcake Creations Blog is having a color challenge.  I missed the first one last week but managed to get this one in before the deadline this week!  I ran across some paper while making another card and immediately thought of this color palette.  Here are this week's colors courtesy of Leslie at a creative MINT:

Here is the card I came up with:

I used my new large leaf border punch from EK Success along with some lace and ribbon at the bottom.

I stamped the sentiment from JustRite Autumn Blessing in Momento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics to match the paper.  I cut with Spellbinders Deckled Oval and mounted to Spellbinders Labels Ten.  I inked the edges and added 2 silver brads.  This was a lot of fun!  TFL!!

This is the first time I've participated in the challenge at Party Time Tuesday but the theme was birthdays and I needed to do a birthday card so it was perfect!  Here is my card:
This was just a quick card that started with the Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock in black/pink.  I embossed with a birthday Cuttlebug folder and then lightly sanded.  The centiment is from JustRite 1-5/8" Just a Note set and colored with my Copics to match.  The ribbon is a scrap from my stash.  Super simple!  Here is a close-up:

I needed to keep it simple so it could be mailed.  TFL!!

JustRite Friday Challenge #42 - SKETCH

This is sketch week at JustRite Inspiration.  The sponsor is Inchie Arts and I have to say that I was unfamiliar with the terms "Inchie" and "Twinchie" before this week!?  They look VERY cool though and I may have to pick some up!  Here is the sketch:
I wasn't very inspired to do this this week's project until I was at M's today and saw this metal frame by Making Memories.  It was perfect for the 2" square stamps in the JustRite Hearts Come Home set!!  I wish I had some Twinchies but, instead, I had to use some regular cardstock for the square. *sigh*  So, I had this frame and some ribbon that I kept coming back to and then I had to find the perfect paper to match??  Here is what I came up with:

The paper is Paper Studio from HL I think and the card base is brown recycled cardstock.  The center piece is embossed with my Cuttlebug Holly folder.  Next, I colored the image with my Copics.  Here is a close-up of my image and metal frame:

The little pearls on the frame were originally white and I colored them red with my Copics to match the berries in the stamped image.  One more Christmas card to add to my stash...hooray!
