JustRite Friday Challenge #087 - "Picture This!"
This will be our last challenge of the year and I'm so happy that Spellbinders Paper Arts is sponsoring again! I created an 8" x 8" shadow box layout with Spellbinders A-2 Polka Dots, Fancy Tags Two and Jewel Flowers and Flourishes for some of the embellishments. I decided to use this picture of my son and his girlfriend from prom in the Spring. I love the coral and white colors and thought that I could do something really great with the photo.
I started by gathering 8" x 8" papers and chose some from October Afternoon. Next, I cut out the picture with Spellbinders A-2 Matting Basics B and backed with black cardstock cut with Spellbinders A-2 Matting Basics A to coordinate with my black frame. I only had a couple of random flowers that would coordinate so I added 2 more handmade flowers.
Most of the people that know me know that I am NOT a scrapbooker and I typically stick to cards because that is where I am most comfortable. I did a layout once before for a DT call and a mini book for my mother but they make me so anxious! My son was very pleased and asked if he could give it as a gift to his girlfriend of one year. Usually he doesn't really pay much attention to what I create but, then again, there IS a photo of HIM on it!! I really like how this turned out but it was a rough road getting to the finish line - LOL!

The sentiment is from JustRite Botanical Medallions & Banners clear set and I mounted on Fancy Tags Two Nestaboard and surrounded with matching Nestabling.
