JustRite & Faber-Castell Blog Hop

Today, I am sharing a card that I made with a new technique using Gelatos from Faber-Castell. I watched several videos using these products and decided to try one. There is a great video that shows several examples of how to use the Gelatos HERE.
I will admit that when I was first presented with this technique, I was a little skeptical but I think this card turned out very pretty! I used JustRite Poppies Labels Twenty Nine cling set for the flowers and sentiment. I know that poppies are usually red, but using this watercolor technique makes the colors a LOT more subtle! I chose the paper to match after I painted the image.

After coloring directly on my stamp with the colors, I misted completely with water and stamped onto white card stock. It took me a few times to figure out the correct combination of ink to water and it took more water that I thought!?? Next, I scribbled onto my non-stick craft sheet and spritzed with water. I used the paintbrush to paint the flowers and stems with more color and added black dots with a black PITT pen. For the final touch, I painted some blue to the rest for color. I cut with Spellbinders Labels Four and added a black Gold Labels Four and a white Elegant Labels Four - 5" x 7" frame. The ribbon is from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.
