The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - JustRite Fern Stamp

I'm a day early this week and also next week but then I will be back to my regularly scheduled Tuesdays. Today over at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store blog I am showing how to create two different looks with the same stamp! The first one is a Watercolor Technique that almost went into the trash! In the end I thought it was pretty cool and deserved to be placed in this nice little 5x7" frame. What a happy accident!?!

I tend to lean more towards crisp and clean look on my cards but every now and then I "try" to do a different technique that I've seen others doing (I'm not sure it's really my thing but I try). I started with Watercolor Paper and sponged it all over with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peeled Paint. Then I spritzed the paper and let dry a little before stamping the Fern image in the same color. I didn't really think it was dark enough so I tried to stamp it again in the same place with the darker Forest Moss ink. It wasn't "exactly" aligned so it looks a bit fuzzy. I thought it wouldn't be a very good representation of the stamp quality so I did a few other tests on other papers and then ultimately settled on a more CAS look - go figure...

For the birthday card, I simply stamped the fern all around the edges with the 2 different colors and put the Extra Grand Sentiment at the top - it couldn't get any easier than that!
