Spellbinders Oct 2022 Embossing Folder of the Month
Today my card features some new (to me) techniques with the October 2022 3D Embossing Folder of the Month called "Scattered Christmas" and a sentiment from the October 2022 Small Die of the Month Membership.
I wanted to try water coloring on this embossing folder because it has so many great details. The idea seemed a little better in my head but, in the end, I like how it turned out!
I used my Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens to color most of the elements and also a Nuvo glitter marker to add some slight sheen to the 3 hanging ornaments. This was all trial and error for me because I don't water color regularly. They are going to take me some time to figure out. I colored some of the elements and they were a little darker than I had intended. When I tried to soften them up, they bled everywhere. That's when I had the next idea...
I decided to run the entire painted card back through the embossing folder with it inked up in black so it filled up the recessed areas and covered my mistakes. I was going to start over and try again with a softer watercolor look but I decided that I like this bold look and built my card. It's not perfect and that's ok!
